Thousands of households who were displaced and living in Mukuku, Kalenge, Cinquantenaire, Kalonda, and Kalunga displacement sites have been given hope for a better future thanks to the durable solution assistance project that IOM has been implementing and which is supported by ECHO.

Meet Adolphe, the Secretary of Katchelewa village in the province of Tanganyika, who generously provided temporary housing to two households - a family of three and an elderly woman - for two months while they built their permanent houses in their new village with the support of IOM.

According to Adolphe:

"As we are welcoming new members into the community, we are strengthening social cohesion between host communities and displaced populations to foster a sense of community within the village. The installation of these new households in our village boosts the local economy by bringing more people together to work towards shared goals."
