IOM trained 121 partners on camp management minimum standards
As co-lead of the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), IOM trained 121 partners on camp management minimum standards. The trainings, funded by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), aimed at enhancing the quality of camp management services for internally displaced populations living in displacement sites. In particular, the training objectives included increasing the understanding of the minimum standards for camp management, identifying roles and responsibilities within the CCCM framework, and contextualizing actions and indicators. Overall, the participants’ satisfaction was high, with 99% (120 out of 121) perceiving the training as “excellent” or “good”.
The trainings took place in November and December 2023 in four provinces: Ituri (35 participants), North Kivu (30 participants), South Kivu (26 participants) and Tanganyika (30 participants) and were followed by operationalization workshops in early 2024 at provincial level to define the standards applicable to each context, facilitated by the National Cluster Coordination team.
